Live the Theology You Believe!
Many of us understand faith intellectually, but our hearts have not quite kept up with our heads. Sonship is designed to help you take some of the glorious theological truths of the gospel "truths you may know in your head" and apply them to the nitty-gritty reality of daily life. You'll find that as the gospel remakes you, there is greater joy and desire to share the wonderful news of God's loving-kindness with others.
This 16-lesson updated and reformatted edition of Sonship challenges participants to take basic gospel truth and apply it deeply to their lives. Designed to be used with Sonship Audio and the Mentored Sonship Program (visit www.whm.org for details). Many have adapted it for use in small groups and Sunday schools.
Serge means “joining together rough edges to form a smooth seam.” Serge (formerly World Harvest Mission) is a ministry that sees God weaving together the ragged parts of a fallen world with his goodness, making the tattered beautiful. This grace compels his people to go, to join their lives with the communities Serge serves around the world, as Christ makes all things new. This is God’s grace at the fray. Serge’s work consists of sending and caring for missionaries, discipling people around the world, and developing resources—like Sonship and The Gospel-Centered Life—for spiritual growth. “I know of no program more committed to helping believers understand the beauty of the gospel, the necessity of repentance and the goodness of a life transformed by God’s grace. The Sonship material is a great blessing that continues to grow in discernment as well as positive influence.”
Bryan Chapell, Author of Christ-Centered Preaching; Pastor, Grace Presbyterian Church
"The Sonship course does something that the church sometimes forgets to do: it sits on the gospel. It immerses you in the love of God, coming at the gospel from every angle. And it does that, not by dumbing down our sin, but by highlighting it, because our false loves, our idols, keep us from our best love, the love of the Father. That's why its called Sonship."
Paul Miller, Director of SeeJesus (www.seeJesus.net); author of A Praying Life
"In my own life there has been no seminar, conference, book, or teaching aid which has given me as profound an understanding and experience of the implications of the gospel as Sonship."
Scotty Smith, Pastor, Christ Community Church, Franklin, TN."
“Sonship has been one of the most influential, liberating studies in my life as a man and as a minister. Fears about life are vanishing through growing faith in my Savior as a child (an heir) of a loving Father. And the joy of walking with others through the class and seeing the seeds of their faith blossom is second only to the renewed joy of my salvation.”
Al Kimball, Pastor of Pastoral Care, Community Evangelical Free Church, Elverson, PA
“I listened to the "Sonship" lectures some years ago when I was struggling for motivation to go on in ministry. These lectures breathed new spiritual life into me and many others during that time. I have listened to them several times since then, and each time God has worked through them to renew my appreciation of my sin, His grace, and His call to love others. I heartily commend these lectures to others who, like myself, who need ongoing spiritual renewal!”
Gary DeLashmutt, Senior Pastor, Xenos Christian Fellowship, Columbus, Ohio
